As a Scandinavian artist, my artwork is deeply influenced by my cultural heritage. Today I want to share with you, a recent piece I made titled "Winter in Dalarna". This mixed media artwork, measuring 5.8 inches by 8.3 inches, is a fine art representation of a rustic Swedish cabin found in Dalarna County, Sweden, during the winter season.
Through a combination of colored pencils and acrylic paint, I wanted to capture the serene and peaceful atmosphere of the Swedish countryside in winter. The colors used in this piece are mostly white, red, gray, black, and brown, creating a wintery wonderland that transports the viewer to this picturesque location.
"Winter in Dalarna" is a reflection of my experiences growing up in Denmark and my many visits to Dalarna. The beauty of the countryside during winter has always captivated me, and I wanted to capture this essence in my artwork. The rustic cabin depicted in this piece is a symbol of the simple, yet beautiful way of life that can be found in the Swedish countryside and throughout the region.
I have always been drawn to mixed media as a way of expressing my feelings and vision, and I love working with a mix of colored pencils and acrylic paint.
